Most of us love a good and beautiful smokey eye, right? But do we all know how to do it the way it’s supposed to? We’ll figure that out as we go through this blog post together!
A smokey eye is a classic beauty look
that changes and reinvents beauty every day. But with so many different techniques out there and ways to do it,
sometimes we tend to get a little carried away and confused about what we
should be doing to achieve the perfect smokey eye look.
Here are 6 of some of the most common
mistakes many do when trying to get a smokey look:
1. Forgetting eyeshadow primer: regardless of how little eyeshadow you’re using
for a look, every time shadows are involved you should always put on a primer.
Using a primer will help the shadows go on smoothly, stay longer and it
prevents them from creasing
2. Too much eyeliner: using too much eyeliner around your eyes can
give you a messy look, which can then turn into racoon eyes (nobody wants
that!). Make sure you’re blending the eyeliner so it looks polished and
flawless.
3. Not blending enough:
blending is very important when it comes to makeup application, and it’s even
more important when doing eye makeup. Blending is the key to achieving a
seamless and beautifully done eye look.
4. Mixing too many
colors: using colors that are in the same color palette
(or in a similar one) and that work together is the key to get a great smokey
eye look.
5. Applying shadow
after foundation: sometimes shadows tend to have fallouts (dark eyeshadow fallouts are the
worst!), so doing your face makeup first can be terrible if this happens
because it’ll just ruin it you’ll have to re-do it.
6. Being lazy: anytime you wear
makeup you should always take it off the minute you get home. If you’re wearing too much eye makeup, it can
make your eyes extremely itchy and the mascara will damage your lashes.
A smokey eye look is something you can basically
wear around any time of the year, day or night and using different colors to
make it different. So I hope next time you’re going for that perfect smokey
look, you’ll be able to achieve it with the help of these tips!
P.S. How many times can one
say “smokey” in a blog post? Hahaha(:
Bye, beautiful!
