How To: Contour and Highlight

Hey, beautiful!

Today I have more makeup tips on how to contour and highlight to make your face look slim and have it glow the right way.

When you apply foundation to your face, you've created a blank canvas, so you have to go back and add dimension back in. Here, you'll use darker shades to contour and lighter shades to bring out features. Just by drawing an "E" to contour and a "C" to highlight you'll create the illusion of a stronger jawline, more chiseled cheeks and a slimmer face.

I'm showing you how to do it with both cream and powder formulas together for the sake of staying power, but you can do one or the other.

*What you'll need: cream bronzer (you can even use a foundation 4 shades darker or so and it'll work the same way) and highlighter, powder bronzer and highlighter, flathead brush (for creams), contour brush (for powders) and blush brush (for blending).

*Steps (do on both sides):

1. After applying your foundation and before any powder, dip your brush into your cream bronzing product to load it up.

2. Swirl the brush on the back of your hand to take away some of the intensity.

3. Start at the middle of the top of your hairline and begin the "E" by tracing along the perimeter down to your temple.

4. Suck in your cheeks to see where your cheekbones are and continue the middle prong of the "E" by sweeping the brush from your temple to underneath the cheekbone.

5. Finish the "E" by sweeping the brush just on and underneath the jawline. You can also fill in the neck to shade it.

6. To highlight, draw a "C" just above your brow to outline the eye all the way to your temple and under your eye just above your cheekbone.

7. With the blush brush go back over the "E" "C" in swirling motions to blend it into the skin.

8. Finish by grabbing the angled contour brush and going over the "E" with bronzer (powder) and the "C" with highlighter (powder).

Well, I hope this was helpful. This really creates a beautiful illusion that many of us need someday! I hope you liked this and TTYL!

Bye, beautiful!
