Today’s blog post is a collab with Natalie from the blog Yours Truly, NY. She’s so sweet and has a great blog so be sure to check it out! Today I’ll be showing you how to get a beautiful spring makeup look since it’s spring now in this hemisphere and Nat is going to be showing you how to achieve a gorgeous fall makeup look; since she's from Australia and it’s fall there!
During spring we can incorporate color in many ways if
we know how to match an entire head-to-toe look together. For example: if you’re
wearing colourful eyeshadow, keep it natural on the lips and add some more color
with your accessories if you want to but not by wearing colourful clothing; or
if you’re wearing a bold lip, then do a
neutral eye… It’s all about finding the right balance so we can wear
colors without going overboard.
Some of the top beauty trends this season are: gold
eyeshadow, blue eyeliner, white eyeliner, bright/neon lips and glowy skin.
Today I’m going to show you how to incorporate all of those into one simple and
beautiful look!
Now, I'm going to show you how to get this beautiful spring
makeup look in just a few easy steps:
*Eyes:
1) Apply an eyeshadow base/primer so the shadows stay
on longer.
2) Apply a vibrant gold eyeshadow all over the lid with a shader brush.
3) Take a matte, dark beige eyeshadow and a fluffy brush to apply the color on the crease and give some definition to the look.
4) With a brown eyeshadow and a pencil brush, apply
the color on the outer corner of your eye to define it by making a V-shape following
your lower lashline and taking it to the outer part of your crease.
5) Then, take a fluffy blending brush and blend any
harsh lines between all of the eyeshadows. Blend away girl!
6) Taking a blue eyeliner to add a pop color, run it
through your lower lashline and be sure to blend.
7) Line your lower waterline with a white eyeliner to
open up the eyes and to make the eye look a little brighter.
8) Optional: take your favorite pair of false lashes
and put those babies on!
9) Apply various coats of your favorite mascara. Be
sure it doesn’t clump up!
*Face:
1) With moisturizer on, apply a primer so your makeup
stays on longer.
2) Take your favorite foundation and what you apply it
with (brush, sponge or hands) and apply it all over. Remember to blend the
product down your neck as well! (See a How To: Apply Foundation post here)
3) Conceal trouble spots if some of still showing
through and then apply a brightening concealer to your under-eye area.
4) Add a translucent powder on top to lock in the
makeup without adding any more color.
5) Optional: take a bronzer and contour your face. (See
a How To: Contour and Highlight post here)
6) Apply a light hand of your favorite blush color to
your cheeks.
7) Optional: highlight the high points of your face. (See
a How To: Contour and Highlight post here)
8) Do your normal eyebrow routine. Always an important
step!
*Lips:
1) Apply a bright orange/coral lipstick to add some
color other than the subtle blue eyeliner!
And that’s it for this makeup tutorial! I hope you
liked it and I’m sorry for just the one photo… Thanks to the beautiful Natalie
