DIY: Healthy Summer Smoothies

Hey, beautiful!

I am one to always want to try different healthy food and drink recipes, so I thought maybe you would all like a few healthy summer smoothie recipes you could try following some easy steps.

Are you going to the beach, hanging by the pool or just chilling with your friends? Write down these easy recipes and the fun will be even better. These will cool you down in the hot weather and are also yummy and healthy!

1. Peanut-Butter Banana Smoothie: are you obsessed with peanut butter? Well, then I’ve got the perfect smoothie for you! Peanut butter has tons of good fats your body needs, and the banana packs this smoothie with potassium.

*Ingredients:
-1 ripe banana 1 cup low-fat (or soy) milk.
-1/4 cup all-natural peanut butter.
-2 tablespoons honey.
-1/2 cup ice.


*Directions: combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

2. Banana-Blueberry Smoothie: blueberries are filled with antioxidants, which strengthen your immune system. And the yogurt adds calcium and B-vitamins.

*Ingredients:
-1 ripe banana.
-1 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen).
-1 cup low-fat plain yogurt.


*Directions: combine all ingredients in a blender and blend on high until smooth. This recipe makes two servings. To make just one serving, cut the ingredient portions in half.

3. Mango-Peach Smoothie:

*Ingredients:
-1 peach, sliced.
-1 mango, peeled and diced.
-1/2 cup milk (or water to make it lactose-free).
-1/2 cup orange juice.


*Directions: place the peach, mango, milk, and juice into the blender. Cover, and blend until smooth. Then serve — it’s ready to wow your guests!

4. Strawberry-Banana-Oatmeal Smoothie: this smoothie will keep you full all morning. You can make this smoothie without the chia seeds, though they add tons of nutrients and are the ingredient that keeps you full.

*Ingredients:
-1/4 cup uncooked oats.
-1-1/2 teaspoons dried chia seeds.
-3/4 cup milk.
-1/4 cup orange juice
-1/4 cup yogurt.
-1/2 cup fresh strawberries.
-1/2 cup fresh banana slices.


*Directions: add oats and chia seeds to blender; blend on high until it's the texture of flour. Add milk and juice to blender, then use a spoon to stir in the oats and chia mixture from the bottom. Next add the yogurt and throw in the strawberries and bananas. Blend on high until it’s smooth.
