How To: Prevent Breakouts

Hey, beautiful!

First of all, I want to apologize for not putting up any blog posts these past two weeks for you guys. I was crazy busy with school and with an exciting project I’ll be letting you know about in a couple of months! Good thing is I’m back now and I’m ready to start posting again here on my blog(:

For today’s post I’ll be giving you some tips and tricks on how to prevent breakouts and how you can take care of the ones you may already have. It doesn’t matter how old you are, you can get breakouts and suffer from acne and that’s never a cute thing to have! Let’s start with today’s post…

*It all starts from within: I know you’ve probably heard about this a thousand times, and there’s a reason for it… You are what you eat! Foods high in sugar and starch can increase the chances of you getting acne, so snack on yogurt instead; it’ll help reduce skin inflammation and its vitamin A helps prevent clogged pores. Check out this blog post for tips on how to eat right!

*Stress also plays an important role: stress can cause breakouts and worsen acne. Learning how to keep stress under control (check out this blog post to learn more on how you can reduce stress!) and incorporating relaxation practices into your everyday routine will help you look and feel better!

*Follow a proper skincare routine: having breakouts and suffering from acne means you have to adjust your regular skincare routine to new needs. This can mean adding new products to your routine or just being more consistent with the one you already have. Here’s how your skincare routine should look like if you’re suffering from acne or just the occasional breakout!

*During your beauty sleep: before going to bed, wash your face properly and make sure your pillowcase is clean. Washing your sheets every week will make a huge difference and your skin will thank you!

*Hands off: your hands are breeding grounds for bacteria, so keeping them away from your face is really important when it comes to preventing breakouts!

*Even you hair can be causing problems: believe it or not, your hair can lead to breakouts! It could be either the products you’re using or how your hair is making contact with your face… If you tend to use products that get near your face, try using lighter formulas instead of heavy ones to see if it’ll help reduce acne. Also, breakouts around your hairline can be attributed to bangs, so consider getting a new style or wear a headband during the day!

If you want to learn more about acne in general, be sure to check out this blog post; and if you want to know how you can make acne scars fade away faster, check out this blog post for an easy DIY on it!

No one likes to have breakouts or suffer from acne, so I hope this post was helpful to some of you. Let me know if you try out any of these tips and if they worked for you!

Bye, beautiful!
